About the APTA

The mission of the American Platform Tennis Association is to:

• Govern the sport of platform tennis
• Grow participation among all levels and types of players and across all regions
• Improve all aspects of the game

We will accomplish this mission by:

• Maintaining the rules and codes of behavior to ensure the integrity of the game
• Creating and increasing awareness of platform tennis
• Providing guidance to leagues, clubs, and municipalities on how to start platform tennis leagues and programs and then how to make those leagues and programs successful
• Promoting the sport among current players to raise their level of passion

The APTA is a non-profit organization of over 36,000 members and an annual operating budget of just over $1,700,000. The APTA oversees:

• The APTA Tour
• More than 275 annual tournaments, including 47 National Championship events
• National Rankings
• Platform Tennis Index (PTI)
• League management system
• Hall of Fame
• Live Streaming of almost all APTA Tour events
• Regulation of equipment standards for balls, paddles, and courts
• APTA website
• Comprehensive media communications
